Wednesday morning Inspired Painting class
Learning from the methods of recognized artists
This course is suitable for people with some basic painting experience. It is ideal for those that enjoy experimenting with new techniques or for anyone that would like to learn more about different methods of painting. It can help to provide a sense of direction for people that have not yet found their own painting style.
The course will be divided into 4 separate projects; at the start of each topic we will take inspiration from a well-known artist's work; a brief introduction about the artist will be given and some relevant painting techniques will be demonstrated. Projects will be flexible, allowing you to introduce thoughts and ideas, and develop your own original work. Classes will include plenty of 'hands on' painting practise with individual help from the tutor.
Create bold striking paintings in acrylics, pastels and watercolours
During the autumn course we will take inspiration from paintings by North American artists. Although, there will only be scope to explore a few styles; selected from the vast array of creativity in this region. We will study varied subjects, including: iconic Pop Art portraits by Andy Warhol, work created by indigenous people, as well as paintings depicting city life and the natural landscapes of America.
